Why did I create Kenpo 2 U?

As a teenager, I experienced far too many violent encounters while simply trying to walk home from school. I was always a fighter, and fortunately was never badly hurt. However, I witnessed people who either lacked the will or the skill to fight back and it did not end well for them.This left an indelible impression which inspired me to want to teach others how to defend themselves. I believe that everyone has the inalienable right to live their life free from bodily harm. Kenpo 2 U was born out of the belief that everyone has the right to protect themself from violence if it’s directed towards them.

Violence is not an aberration, it is unfortunately a reality of life. According to the FBI Crime Clock Statistics:

  • A violent crime occurs every 25.6 seconds
  • One murder occurs every 24.8 minutes
  • One rape occurs every 3.9 minute
  • One aggravated assault occurs every 35.3 seconds
